My client, a large media-publishing company is recruiting a talented and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join their evolving Technology team. The Senior Business Analyst will be a part of the Business Analysis Team and report in to the Business Analysis Manager, the overall team sits within the Enterprise Architecture and Business Analysis capability. As Senior Business Analyst, you will have a wealth of experience in business analysis ranging from complex software delivery projects through to business process engineering projects and lots in-between. You will be a highly capable individual who is able to deliver work items independently as well as manage the work items of other team members. You will have a history of undertaking deep analysis of complex problems across a range of organisations, ideally including publishing and/or media. You will engage with the stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these in to requirements. You will work with both the business and Technology to develop and improve the organisation's capabilities and act as an agent of change and use different analysis techniques to support these change activities. As Senior Business Analyst, you will be comfortable supporting and directing other analysts within the team as well as taking the lead on pieces of work to set direction and ensure quality standards are adhered to. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Significant demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst across multiple projects Significant experience leading on Business Analysis work including: Defining requirements capture and management approaches Business process mapping and modelling Sizing Business Analysis effort for work items Significant experience across the entire SDLC Functional and line management experience Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies Experience of authoring business, functional and technical requirements as well as specification documents A range of technical project experience, ideally with experience of delivering solutions for media and publishing organisations. Experience of project management methodologies and frameworks and change management processes ? Experience across a range of industry sectors (Breadth of knowledge) Key Responsibilities/Duties: Identifying and capturing requirements Work with business and Technology stakeholders (architecture, design, service etc.) to: Identify and evaluate work that requires Technology change Agree and document scope, requirements and technical constraints of that work Elicit, analyze and validate requirements from stakeholders, end-users and subject matter experts and produce detailed requirements documentation as appropriate Define as-is and to-be processes and states Critically asses the need for requirements and provide both objectivity and subjectivity to stakeholders Represent the business and their requirements throughout the project/delivery lifecycle Ensure requirements (business, functional and non-functional) are sufficient for design and development, and work with delivery teams to clarify requirements and liaise with the business concerning requirements Adhere to internal standards of documentation (be they departmental or project specific) Work with Technology teams and other service providers to define and evaluate solution proposals for viability and appropriateness. Support supplier evaluations (RFI/RFP processes) Ensure that requirements are clear and traceable at the testing stage Production of testing materials (e.g. UAT scripts) and support for testing process Production of documentation to support service transition Project Management of small/mid-size changes / enhancements Support for solution delivery, providing project management support and quality assurance Management and Relationships Line Management, development and mentoring of Business Analysts within the team (FTC, contract and/or permanent) Acting as a point of escalation within the team, to help resolve challenges and to support the successful and ongoing delivery of change Defining, structuring and championing the best approaches to delivery for different work items Building and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders, ability to challenge and influence where required Assign, influence and manage work items as required, keeping General Give guidance of overall Technology landscape and provide recommendations Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of projects, the BA function, the Technology function and the Organisation as a whole Keep abreast of current technology and trends that may be of use/benefit to the business This job was originally posted as
