Senior Business Analyst Having grown from a pioneering ISP 20 years ago, today Zen Internet is a multi-award-winning company that provides a full range of data, voice and cloud services to business and residential customers across the UK as well as being recognised as one of the best companies to work for in the UK. The growth of both our customer base and product portfolio has led to the creation of a central Business Analysis function whose responsibility it is to support and deliver change initiatives across all areas of the company, including divisions and shared functions. We now have an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the team. Your key responsibilities as a Senior Business Analyst are to understand business change needs, assess the relative value and impact of those changes, capture, analyse and document requirements and then support the communication and delivery of those improvements. This is a highly collaborative role in which you will work very closely with representatives from all areas of the business including software development teams and operational managers to understand and help develop their processes and increase capability within their business areas. As a Senior Business Analyst you will be expected to independently lead key processes and tasks including the establishment and maintenance of divisional improvement plans, ensuring they are sufficiently considered prior to their progression into implementation. Although primarily focused internally you will at times be required to facilitate workshops, elicit requirements and manage change initiatives with Zen's partners or direct customers. You will also be required to work closely with current or potential suppliers to assess solution options. As a member of the Business Analysis team you will work strategically to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement that are common across divisions and shared functions. You will work closely with Solution Architects and key stakeholders to develop these into strategic business and system improvement plans. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy. You will have excellent inter-personal skills, and the ability to pull together teams made up of a diverse range of individuals, to produce solutions that are fully supported by all involved. Responsibilities Eliciting problem statements and developing plans to address them with a view to achieving operational efficiency, reducing or removing duplication and cost, and improving customer experience and service delivery Leading and facilitating cross-functional workshops to aid the understanding of problems, design of changes and re-engineering of processes Leading development of processes required to support new product and services Documenting and clearly communicating complex business, functional and non-functional requirements to relevant business and technical stakeholders Establishing high-level design of solution options including leadership of Invitation to Tender' processes for new software packages Working with Agile Product Owners' and software development teams to ensure system requirements are well defined and can be delivered effectively in valued-driven increments Working with Solution Architects to help develop into strategic system design and planning Contribute to the identification of cross-division and company improvements by proactively sharing problems, challenges and areas for improvement from within the Business Analysis Team Skills & Experience Able to run cross-company workshops and resolve complex requirements conflicts through effective stakeholder engagement Structured and logical approach to problem solving with the ability to quickly analyse and understand a problem and identify practical/pragmatic solutions Can construct complex data, business system and process models and perform value-stream mapping Can construct As-is' and To-be' process mapping to support process re-engineering activities Perform cost benefit analysis and contribute to benefits realisation Excellent stakeholder management skills Understands the principles of system and user acceptance testing and the link to requirements documentation and is able to produce relevant scripts Demonstrates strong commercial awareness Understands principles of Business and IT strategy and is able to work with senior business stakeholders Proven leadership and management skills with experience of working with Agile, iterative and Waterfall delivery approaches Qualifications in Lean Six-Sigma and/or BCS/ISEB Exposure to techniques and principles of business and enterprise architecture (eg TOGAF) Exposure to ISO standards including 9001, 14001 and 27001 is beneficial Previous experience of working in a Telecoms business is beneficial This job was originally posted as
