Objectives of Function : To ensure that the Company's products are designed and produced in a timely manner to an agreed cost and quality standard whilst managing stock levels and product 'freshness'. Duties and Responsibilities : To provide overall management of the Engineering, Purchasing and Production teams. To ensure that the integrity of manufacturing data on ERP is improved and maintained. To define Production strategies to reduce cost and lead times, and improve 'first time pass rates'. To oversee their implementation. To maximise the Company's monthly despatch output. To optimise the Company's delivery performance to match or exceed customer expectations. To plan for the annual disruptions that can be anticipated, stocktakes, Christmas/New Year, summer holidays (both internal and for suppliers). To ensure that all members of the team are adequately trained in core competences, H &S, requisite supervisory skills and in the use of Company systems. To programme manage Engineering to ensure that projects are completed on time, to budget and that product cost targets are achieved. Cross Functional Links : Regular contact with Sales Office, Quality and Marketing. Required Skills and Education : Strong leadership skills. Extensive experience of electronic manufacturing methods and processes. High level of PC and ERP literacy. Excellent planning and organisation skills. An understanding of MRP and potential issues arising from its use. Ability to think laterally to overcome short term supply or production issues.
