Product Designer A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Product Designer to join an established, dynamic and growing company with a blue chip customer base in UK and international markets. Our clients philosophy is to create innovative products from concept through to market introduction and they hold a number of international patents covering many of the product categories they are delivering to the market. They are looking for self-motivated, talented and creative designers to join their team who not only have a great appreciation of aesthetic design but are technically proficient and hands on. As a Product Designer you will be responsible for researching product categories, creating intelligent solutions to everyday problems and delivering designs from concept through to implementation and commercialisation. The role offers the opportunity to work within a product sector that rapidly evolves and changes and involves interface with clients and manufacturing sites. Our client offer a competitive package including 25 days holidays As a Product Designer you will have the following Duties and Responsibilities: To produce and create product designs from concept through to implementation of finished items, working to a brief or own initiative. Responsible for all aspects of the design including engineering, prototyping, evaluation and initial testing regimes. Monitoring project milestones to meet scheduled launch dates using Smartsheet software in conjunction with Product management. Input into the packaging and merchandising of the products, creation of installation instructions. Liaising with suppliers, internal and external customers and our clients overseas personnel during the design phase of the project. Carrying out any market research and competitor product evaluation required to define the characteristics and requirements of the product. Supporting sales and customer service personnel with product training. Analysis and diagnosis of product failures in the field. Visiting national and international trade fairs and exhibitions to ensure current market trends and styles are understood and developing trends are captured. Control of drawings and product specifications for ISO9001 purposes. Material specifications. Technical reports. Input into existing technical support documentation, including product specifications and product data sheets. Internal and External Interfaces: Internal interfaces include direct communication with the appropriate representatives from the Sourcing Department, Q.A, Marketing, Sales ,Operations and our Overseas office personnel. External interfaces include direct communication with the appropriate customer representatives regarding customer supplied technical data, design input and product related supporting information. Communication with manufacturing sites and suppliers is essential in the progression of design through to production. As a Product Designer you will have: Excellent written English language skills. Experienced in Microsoft Office. Competent and experienced in Solidworks 3D design software and able to produce 3D models, photo-realistic renders and create detailed engineering drawings. Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Have the ability to generate and communicate multiple ideas quickly to meet challenging briefs. Have good concept visualisation and presentation skills. Logical approach to problem solving and manufacturing limitations of design projects. Eye for detail. Desirable Proficient in rendering and animation software such as Keyshot. Technical/engineering authoring/editing background. Technical/engineering background. Experience in Smartsheet product management software. Full driving licence.
