LLW Repository Ltd are looking to sponsor a graduate on the nucleargraduates programme to work with The National Waste Programme. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to and experience the running of a national programme, the only one led by the nuclear industry. You can expect to find yourself involved in a range of collaborative projects from national level optioneering for different waste routes to the delivery of your own projects, such as the development of guidance documents. You would be expected to attend regular meetings as part of the programme governance arrangements, gaining exposure to industry stakeholders including government, regulators, SLCs and the supply chain as well as getting experience of working in a strategic level programme office with a wide remit. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your understanding of waste management, exposure to national strategy implementation and engagement with cross-industry stakeholders. This two-year programme consists of three secondments; you can expect to find yourself working with Government, on-site, with the private sector supply chain and regulatory authorities. Graduates will also have an excellent possibility of going on an international secondment. Your nucleargraduates programme will be broken down into technical and behavioural training. It will be structured against the needs of the institute with whom you’re aiming to gain chartered engineer or scientist status. You will come together with your fellow graduates to complete ‘core’ training as well as having the benefit of an individual training budget for training specific to your personal development. On top of this you will spend 10% of your time with us to Footprints, our corporate social responsibility programme. You will have the opportunity to become a STEM ambassador, passing on your knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation of scientists and engineers. You will establish a start-up company, developing your commercial awareness and allowing your appreciation of the challenges faced by a small business. You will work with local community projects, meeting inspirational individuals. Upon completion of the two-year programme you will start employment with LLW Repository Ltd to continue your career and professional development. The nucleargraduates programme allows you to experience the different aspects of our complex, ever-changing industry before starting employment with LLW Repository Ltd to continue your career and professional development.
