Job title: Care Support Worker Location: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Contract Type: Permanent Hours per week: 23.5 hours per week Salary: £13,004.90 per annum Closing date: 27th October 2016 Interview date: 4th November 2016 About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to join their established Social Care Team providing services and support to children, teenagers and young adults with cancer. Their team includes Paediatric and Young People's Social Workers. You will be based at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital You will be expected to maintain a high standard of administration, but also to help Social Workers to provide day to day support for service users and to plan and organise events and activities. You will have some contact with children, young people and families, completing registrations and grant applications, providing information and assistance with accessing appropriate services. You will help them to maintain their CARE database and contribute to collecting and presenting data for reports and evaluations. About you: They are looking for an experienced person who has the confidence to meet with children and families when they may be experiencing great distress, but who is also highly organised and efficient. You will need to have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, have experience of an administrative role and experience of working with children and families. It is desirable that you have some experience of working in a similar setting and that you have an understanding of the impact of cancer or serious illness. All applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills. This post will require a Criminal Records check.
