Our client is looking to appoint a contractor on a three-month Data Architect position. This will be a dedicated Data Architect/Engineering role that will participate in a number of strategic activities focused upon the development of formal Data Management tools and techniques within the company. You will be expected to work in a fast moving environment, whilst being responsible for delivering a Proof of Concept Solution that will kick-start a holistic Operational Data Management initiative within the company with the aim of extending the reach and capability of its highly successful Active Network Management (ANM) Technology Platform. There is a requirement to develop tools and methods that can effectively manage: - Legacy Operational Data currently being recorded/archived in client systems; - Upcoming revisions to the Technology Platform and how it handles increasing volumes and types of operational data; - Future strategic platform initiatives. Key Skills and Background: - Experience with NoSQL technologies, including Spark and other tools such as MongoDB, Cassandra; - Strong experience with Data visualisation tools such as - Tableau, QlikView, Business Objects, D3; - Track record of defining the Operational Data Architecture strategy and blueprints (design, implementation) for enterprise level platforms; - Experience delivering complex Data Management projects, specifically in NoSQL with a Time-Series element would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to Data Science practices - Experience defining end to end Data Governance/Architecture; - Work in an Agile based environment using methodologies like Scrum; - Extensive ETL development and testing experience, ideally Talend and/or Pentaho; - An adept communicator with proven team leadership skills and highly focused on delivery. About the role: - You will be an integral part of the clients' Technology team and will work on a business critical project; - Partnering closely with clients and vendors to provide a range of services including: strategy and roadmap development, analysis & ideation, advisory, innovation and business development; - The project is at PoC phase, so the candidate will have a direct influence over technology decisions as well as shaping the platform; - Working in a small, talented and high-performing team of architects, there will be plenty of opportunity for the candidate to bring new ideas and technical innovation to the team; - You will have a passion for solving problems of huge magnitude and for new and emerging areas of this technology.
