Application Support Engineer - Cloud Enterprise Software - Linux Middleware App Servers SAAS / ASP / Hosted Software Support – Product Operations Greenfield Opportunity - Brand New Team - Global Marquee Named Software House Varied environment – 40 Applications various stacks mainly Linux also windows broad range of skills required across app stack and networks for diagnostic purposes Keywords – Customer Support Engineer, Technical Support engineer, Application Support Engineer, Application Support Analyst, Linux Administrator, Web Application Support, Operations Engineer, Web Operations Engineer, Product Operations Engineer, AWS Linux, RHEL, Redhat, Jboss, Tomcat, OutSystems, Apache HTTP Server, OpenAM, BizTalk, WebSphere, AWS Our client is currently looking to build a brand new team c. 10 people to support their ASP / SAAS / Hosted software offerings which are market leading. Follow the sun standard working hours with some requirement for on call and weekend working every 8 weeks. Key requirements (we seek most of the following) - Linux or Windows and some Linux platform experience - Knowledge of Web technologies - Web Servers / Application Servers e.g. Tomcat, Apache, WebLogic, WebSphere - Experience of AWS Amazon Web Services - Scripting experience e.g. Shell / Bash, Puppet, PowerShell, Perl - RDBMS / Databases at least one of - MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle 11 and Oracle RAC - Strong knowledge of LDAP design and implementation, and Windows networking - Experience of administering in a multi-platform O/S environment e.g. windows and Linux - SAN / NAS - TCP/IP - Load Balancers - Firewalls We seek people with a very strong application support background from an enterprise perspective so while we don't require experts in each of these niches we need people who have a strong enough knowledge to see where problems are occurring be they database performance or maybe a network issue diagnose a problem and where necessary pass it to a specialist engineer to resolve.
