Columbus Insurance Services are seeking a Lead QA Engineer based in Haywards Heath or central London, to work within our Insurance & Assistance capabilities on a contract basis managing and leading the test work-stream of a key transformation project currently taking place, d evising and carrying out both manual and automated tests and working with the IT team at large to ensure delivery of the project is of the very highest quality possible. Key responsibilities: Leading the test work-stream and QA team members Preparation and review of test plans and scripts Preparation and review of test reports Ensure that acceptance tests are agreed and signed off with relevant stake holders Carry out manual exploratory tests Prioritise log and track issues according to Company processes To raise issues related to usability, performance and general look and feel, in addition to defects Carry out regression tests To provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and quality requirements Act as a mentor/role model for Junior and QA Engineers Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Strong QA and testing industry knowledge Proven experience in testing Detailed knowledge of both manual and automated testing Thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes Experience of testing using tools including TestComplete and SpiraTest Proficient in VB/VBA and SQL testing Proven experience of testing user and system interfaces Proven experience of data warehouse testing Good analytical skills to devise an optimal suite of test cases for a piece of functionality Must be proficient in spoken and written English Very careful attention to detail, and with a commitment and rigorous approach to quality Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to work to agreed deadlines. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
