Telecoms Voice VoIP - Service Desk Technician - Manchester Voice / Data / IP telephony / Broadband / Ethernet Access Products / ISP / Carrier / Networking / Telecommunications / Cisco Router / Media Gateway Support Desk Engineer is required by our client, a dynamic, agile and profitable voice and data services company which has become one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK telecommunications market over the last few years. This is a hands-on, technical Service Desk role providing technical support to customers covering a range of products, including both Voice and Data . This involves working with customers via the telephone and email, providing help and advice on customer faults and any other technical queries they may have. The position would be ideal for people who enjoy solving problems using a methodical and logical approach working within a similar technical role. There will be an element of working with customers online, running live debug to solve problems. No formal experience is needed although a good knowledge of IP telephony, Broadband and Ethernet services would be a distinct advantage, as would past experience in an ISP or carrier environment . Key Responsibilities: To provide excellent technical support to Network Solutions customers Effective monitoring of the network using the available reporting and alarm systems To be able to communicate network issues effectively. Use the Netsuite ticketing system to log and progress incidents and change requests. Possess the ability to drive issues to resolution in order to meet customer service level agreements and customer expectations. Possess good customer services skills Must be a self-starter, proactive, highly organized, and capable of working well with individuals at all levels in the organization. Will possess good interpersonal, written, oral, and analytical skills, as well as being innovative and dedicated. The support engineer will be expected to participate in the on call rota once fully trained Qualifications/Skill Required: Applicants will typically be qualified to degree level in telecommunications or a related technical discipline; or have demonstrated expertise in a similar customer facing role.
