Brief: We are looking for a Web Designer to join our Client’s fast-paced ecommerce company. This design-led role requires a technically minded individual who demonstrates a high level of creativity. You should be organised, proactive and keen to learn and share new design and digital developments with your colleagues. As a Web Designer you will be working with the Senior Web Developer to create stylish, modern and dynamic websites. You'll be responsible for establishing the design, layout and functionality of our website, using your skills to create a websites and user experience that our customers will love. This role requires an exceptional eye for design along with practical web development abilities. You will work closely with our graphic designers, marketing and other internal stakeholders to bring to life our brand, product information and collateral and other website content, via the pixels you place and code you write. You should have a proven track record in design and/or digital media and be enthusiastic, hard working, and not daunted by a challenge. Responsibilities: Designing and developing web pages for a range of websites including graphics, animation and functionality. Ability to create beautiful designs by leveraging advanced knowledge of typography, layout and composition, colour theory, grid systems and use of photography. Wireframe & mockup or brand new site pages and present to senior management. Collaborate with marketing teammates, senior management, designers, and other project stakeholders. Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, leads, and customers. Push the boundaries of design on the web to surprise and delight viewers Turning creative concepts into finished products Ensuring visual styles are kept within brand guidelines Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes to team members Requirements: Solid front-end development/design skills. Experience using Photoshop, Sketch and Illustrator. Proven experience in UI web technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript (Including frameworks such as Jquery, Bootstrap) and their patterns Strong background with HTML5 and CSS3 Proficient with a CSS Pre processor such as Sass or LESS Experience with fluid grid systems and front-end frameworks Knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS is highly desirable Designing and building HTML newsletters Design management of 3rd party email service providers such as Mail Chimp Experience working with responsive design and e-commerce platforms 5 years of commercial experience Personal interest in staying up-to-date on the latest trends, including agile methodology and emerging best practices in the UI community.
