CSM Associates have been retained by a leading multi-discipline Engineering organisation based in Wiltshire. The company has grown significantly in the building services industry, particularly within the commercial property, new build and retrofit construction and facilities management sectors. Due to this growth now require a Head of Engineering to really drive the division forward. This is a Senior Management position within the business and you will be required to manage a team of Designers and Project Managers across the building services divisions. Solid knowledge of design within fire, security, mechanical and electrical projects. The Role: Manage a team of Designers and Project Managers across the building services divisions ensuring systems are at all times compliant with regulations, CDM and technical best practise as well as hitting budget and customer service standards. To develop and maintain design, project and contract management quality standards and lead by example for example undertaking design work where required. Overall responsibility for Design Risks Assessments for CDM including the new CDM 2015 policy. Responsible for management, training and development of design and project management teams. Assist the General Manager and Head of Sales with strategic selection of products for the overall building services range of products and services. Assist management team and General Manager with general technical advice for strategic development of the division Key Responsibilities: Technical and Quality: Maintain accurate and up to date standards records for the division Maintain quality compliance within British standards for the division and act as the key technical authority for NSI, MCS Design : Overall responsibility for all designs to ensure they are compliant with British standards Responsibility for training and development of the design team to ensure they are capable of meeting the sales team and customer design requirements as they evolve over time. Undertake hands on designs where possible Project Management: Set team standards for project management in line with best practise for UK construction industry and those within the specific technology sectors Oversee specification and contract review and manage signoff process Ensure tight control over budget management and process of project administration to ensure projects hit budget Key Requirements: Knowledge of Design and Project Management, Fire, Security, mechanical, electrical and BMS in commercial buildings Knowledge of the construction and building services industry Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in CAD, BIM, Microsoft Office, Project management software and CRM systems.
