Role Purpose: To ensure the safe, effective and efficient management of the production shift and the people involved meeting the requirements of the production plan whilst maintaining health and safety, quality and food safety standards. The candidate will be an effective support & number two to the Manufacturing Manager. Role Dimensions: Location: Enfield Line Manager: Manufacturing Manager Direct reports: Line Technicians and Production Operatives (24 in total – shared with 2nd Shift Manager) Relationships: 2ndShift Manager, Production Supervisor or coordinator?, Supply Chain Planner, Goods In Co-Ordinators, Technical team, Engineering team and Warehouse team Role Accountabilities: Delivery of manufacturing budget & targets including overhead cost per tonne, OEE, RTF etc. Delivery of budgeted material usage (to standard) whilst maintaining stock accuracy >99.5%. Lead and manage robust continuous improvement initiatives in your area to deliver budgeted improvements Lead and manage robust change (e.g. NPD, material trials etc.) Lead & ensure H&S compliance, delivering on all H&S KPI’s (Accident rate, SML audit score, Legal & Mandatory audit score, risk assessment completion etc.) Delivery of customer service targets (>98.5% OTIF) Lead in the development of brilliant processes to ensure product quality to required statutory, company and customer standards. Management/Development of a high performing team (Inc. robust succession planning) Skills/Knowledge Knowledge and experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment Experience of leading an action team to deliver a CI project (e.g. tinplate waste reduction) Proven record of developing/coaching teams Understanding and experience in managing stocks, preferably experience of warehouse management systems PC literate Qualifications Manufacturing/science/engineering or supply chain degree (Desirable) IOSH managing safely (Essential) HACCP level 2 (Essential) Basic Food Hygiene (Essential) Core competencies Demonstrable problem solving capabilities Leading and coaching teams Structured and organised in balancing priorities Excellent communication skills Conflict Resolution skills Relationship building, team player Proactive and pragmatic Results driven Influencing relationships with peers This job was originally posted as
