We have an outstanding IT Support opportunity (2nd Line / Server Support / Windows) with a leading, fast-growing UK Manufacturer in the St Helens area, who require an experienced ICT Technician / Administrator to both maintain their infrastructure systems, and lead exciting cloud migration projects (Office 365 / Azure). The ideal IT Support Engineer will have proven commercial experience in a varied infrastructure support role, who can demonstrate in-depth Server knowledge (Windows Server / Exchange), and ideally some experience with cloud-based computing platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure and Office 365, and virtualisation technology such as Hyper-V. Often, the successful Support Technician will be working alone and therefore we require a candidate who has the experience and confidence to thrive in this scenario, along with a breadth of skills covering server / infrastructure support, networking, WAN / LANs, Databases and SQL Server. Excellent knowledge of application support on Microsoft Office and Operating Systems is expected. Occasionally, you'll also be expected to provide remote IT Support to other branches throughout the UK, therefore strong communication skills, especially over the telephone, are essential; as is the ability to translate technical information to non-technical users. Ideally, the successful Support Technician will have worked on a busy remote helpdesk / service desk dealing with 1st line / 2nd line support calls.
