Lead PHP Engineer required for a major broadcaster, this will be a "hand on" technical leadership role in the backend team. Overview: As the lead PHP Engineer you will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable, testable and performant code. At the same time you will be working to encourage best practices within the team and work closely with the architects to guide the technical solutions. Company: Working within a company that are at the forefront of network solutions and services in the digital world - and be at the heart of where much of the infrastructure behind television, radio, satellite and wireless communications is in the UK and have a significant international presence. Some of their customers include major broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, BSkyB, major telco providers and the emergency services. Department: Connected Solutions are involved with metadata broadcasting for OTT and On Demand services including the recent launch of the Freeview Play service. You will also be involved in significant virtual infrastructure projects with other areas of the business and support a number of products including large screen frontend developments. Lead PHP Engineer responsibilities: Write clean, maintainable, testable and performant code. Ensuring the highest coding standards are met. Encouraging best practices. Work with the architects to design robust scalable solutions. Be part of the release cycle process including ensuring quality control. Lead PHP Engineer Skills: (Required) PHP and PHPUnit. (Required) RESTful services. (High) Symfony2. (High) XML and XSD. (Medium) Linux. (Medium) GIT. (Low) Docker/Containers.
