A FANTASTIC opportunity has arisen to work for one of UK's largest Transport and Distribution companies. The SENIOR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER role working on this large companies sub-contract division, based in RUGBY offers fantastic and rapid career prospects for the right individual, with the right attitude to work, learn and develop. Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 Contract Type: Full Time (Permanent) Shift Pattern: Days, Monday - Friday My client is look to expand the team by recruiting a Senior Traffic controller based in Rugby. who will be responsible for managing a team of 7 transport planners and 12 operations support staff. The successful individual will manage this team along with another two senior traffic controllers. The role is actually the level of a Transport Supervisor and would suit individuals who have previous experience at this level or are ready for the step up in responsibility. Key Responsibilities in this role will include: - Operations - Collate Daily plans from internal company sites for subcontraction. - Operations - Plan utilising the companies systems and communicate plans to sites & suppliers. - Operations - liase with haulage subcontractors daily to ensure service requirements are met. - Operations - ensure timely & accurate issue reporting in line with individual contract/contractual requirements. - Operations - Ensure all CSD Planning duties are completed each day. - Operations - Ensure CSD planners source appropriate solutions based on service performance and profitability. - Operations - Effective management of Planning and Operational Support team. Working closely with Regional Controllers to ensure indiviual reviews, PDPs and all HR requirements are completed for all team members. - Customer Service - ensure effective communications at all times with all stakeholders - Team Working - work in collaboration with colleagues at all levels within our client to achieve results. - Process Improvement - monitor and recommend improvements for CSD customers. - Operations - Ensure CSD team are fully trained on all customer requirements and processes. - Operations - Effective management of operational issues & utilising problem solving skills. The ability to make sound decisions quickly and escalate to Regional Controllers where appropriate. - Operations - Be flexible regarding shift patterns in the event of absence and provding on-call support with operational matters. - Interpret and analyse at a high level financial data and understand financial terminology (EBIT, revenue, cost, margin etc) - Projects - support role out of new processes and systems such as CFX. - Support Regional Controllers and PCM team with procurement of new hauliers. - Projects - As required, support Regional Controllers with the migration of our clients accounts to CSD. - Motivate team members to perform to the highest standards - Ensure compliance with all HR requirements - PDP's, RTW's, sickness reporting, disciplinaries, etc. - Monitor and improve the team's performance through regular feedback and management tools - Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential Key skills and experience in this role will include: - Good understanding of UK & Ireland divisional structure - Working knowledge of CFX and all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) - Understanding of transport commercials, Open and Closed Book - Understanding of current UK haulage market and practrices - Previous experience in a transport operational environment - Good working geographical knowledge of UK & Irish road networks - Good knowledge of geography of our clients UK sites and haulier operating regions - Educated to High school/College minimum - CPC an advantage - Knowledge of Transport Management systems and Telematics What will you get in return?
