I am now working exclusively with a leading Power Tools manufacturing business based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire who due to company expansion are now looking to recruit a stand out, Project Manager to form part of the in-house product development team responsible for managing multiple projects. Client Details Based in Sheffield with multiple sites across the globe including China, my client traditionally specialised in steel dry cutting technology and pioneered advanced TCT saws. By Utilising this know how and experience, the company have developed this technology to construct a range of multipurpose saws which cut Steel, Aluminium and Wood, with just one saw and one blade. Due to company expansion and development of new products my client is looking to recruit a stand out, Project Manager who has experience within managing multiple projects. Description Working within a small team as the Project Manager you will report directly into the New Product Development Manager and will be responsible for liaising and communicating with Chinese manufactures and form part of the in-house product development team managing multiple projects Main Duties and Tasks Include: Form part of the in-house product development team managing projects on Circular saws, mitre saws, chop saws and associated power tools and accessories. Planning all aspects of product development, implementation and product delivery to create a comprehensive schedule. Occasional management of on-going product improvements to existing products. Liaising and communicating with Chinese manufactures and in-house team in China. Leading project meetings and ensuring timely delivery of all activities. Weekly reporting as well as design sign off meetings and gate sign off meetings. Planning all aspects of product development, implementation and product delivery to ensure on time on cost product that need the specification as per the brief. Ensuring consistent high standards of product delivery leading to robust and durable products encompassing the brand values. Additional Responsibilities Occasional management of on-going product improvements to existing products. Liaising and communicating with our Chinese manufactures and team in China. Location / Department Role is based in Sheffield Jobholder is a member of the new product development department. Jobholder may be required to travel periodically in UK, Europe, USA and China Profile Experience Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a project planning and delivery role 3-5 years' experience in a project planning and delivery role Background in managing mechanical engineering projects with internal teams of engineers as well as liaising with 3rd party Far East suppliers Preferably from consumer product experience Proven understanding of product development process from concept through to production ready design Methodical approach with good attention to detail. Good team player able to work alongside design, engineering and marketing personnel. Good written and verbal skills, capable of presenting to others. Fluent with Microsoft Project Chinese language skills would be a bonus Some previous experience in using power tools would be helpful. Education and tools Literacy in computer based applications and project management tools such as Microsoft Office. Personal Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Open minded approach, happy to listen to ideas and inputs from others within the business Team player.
