Role Overview: Due to an increase in work within our Local Authority Highways Team we are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer. The successful candidate will initially be working on the Brunswick scheme in East Manchester, a regeneration project in conjunction with our Housebuilding Division, Linden Homes. You will be responsible for overall contracts setting out and site management functions allocated by the Site Manager during site occupancy, maintaining and maximising quality of service and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Quality Engineers will actively lead this initiative and will be responsible for monitoring the quality of the works in conjunction with the Test and Inspection Plan, maintaining as built records General day to day setting out for the earthworks , drainage , kerbs etc Site Management Assist the Site Manager in the initial site set-up, actively installing Company systems and procedures Rigorously apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of resources Financial Controls Assist the Site Manager and Quantity Surveying Department by compiling data to record resources utilised on each activity Participate in the implementation of strict financial controls on the payment of subcontractors, suppliers and operatives Setting Out Co-ordinate site setting out to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary Ensure standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors Safety Actively support the Site Manager in maintaining and enforcing safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with the Company's Safety Policies Marketing Assist in establishing and maintaining links with clients, determine customer satisfaction levels and develop contact points for post contract marketing Actively participate in generating a wider client base and produce feedback data to the Regional Manager Qualifications: HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or associated discipline CSCS card Health & Safety Qualification Experience: Proven experience in Earthworks and Drainage Highways experience is essential,structures experience is desirable Experience within Engineering Control Knowledge and experience of basic setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM. Knowledge of GPS preferred Ability to read and understand drawings and specification Possess an understanding of ACP, implementation and construction tolerances Awareness of Specification and other Contract documents Have an understanding of Permit Systems and actively raises permits to Work Able to undertake weekly safety inspections and highlight issues to be resolved Basic environmental awareness Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately In return: In return we offer an opportunity to work on some of the UKs most exciting construction projects, in a fast paced environment where each day brings new challenges as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
