The Network Engineer will be working within the Network Engineer team to maintain the high availability and integrity of the network infrastructure. Skills (ideally): Highly experienced in supporting Cisco LAN and WAN - preferably CCNP or higher. Experience of Nexus data centre/enterprise level networking essential (UCS a bonus). Highly experienced in supporting Checkpoint firewalls (Palo Alto a bonus). Good load balancing configuration and troubleshooting skills on Cisco ACE (A10 a bonus). Strong troubleshooting capabilities. Strong communication (verbal/written) skills. Excellent documentation skills. Flexibility to working hours. A strong team ethos but with an ability to work unattended. Sound knowledge of IT. Desirable: Strong knowledge of network security. Strong knowledge of network load balancing mechanisms. Knowledge of global load balancers. Knowledge of networking within virtualised solutions Used to working in high pressured environments. Familiarity of working within a data centre environment. ITIL certification or experience of working within an ITIL oriented organisation. Responsibilities: Incident management and fault resolution for internal and customer LAN & WAN to meet internal and customer SLA . Configuration and implementation of new network equipment. Configuration and upgrade of existing network equipment. Provide technical escalation for NOC/Helpdesk/Internal and external customers. Adhere to change control and internal best practises and procedures. Assist and carry out regular audits to ensure system integrity. Assist during maintenance windows and other out of hours work.
