Electronics Team Leader Derby Permanent £40,000 - £45,000 The Background I am working with one of the UK's leading construction contractors who are looking for an Electronics Team leader to join their Rail business unit in Derby. Reporting into the Systems Engineering Manager you will lead and direct a small team of electrical/electronic engineers and technicians in the provision of engineering design and production solutions for a wide range of measurement systems including design, development, manufacture, installation and maintenance. The Role As Electronics Team Leader you will provide specialist engineering support for new and existing products and services as well as support the full project lifecycle from requirements capture to final testing and for vehicle commissioning and beyond to in-service support. As part of the role you will undertake the design of electronic elements of Infrastructure and Rail Vehicle mounted measurement systems utilising a variety of measurement devices and techniques and manage delivery of electronics tasks for a project in collaboration with the relevant project managers. You will produce design documentation to allow the proper management of the engineering design process and work with the extended team to ensure that the data acquisition software and mechanical elements of the system are compatible with hardware electronic solutions. In this role you will constantly examine and review existing processes and identify areas that processes and quality can be improved as well as work closely with the project managers to provide regular planning updates for electronic tasks to ensure project requirements are met. You… To be a successful Electronics Team Leader you will have gained previous experience in a similar role in the rail industry. In these roles you will have gained expert knowledge of analogue and digital electronic design as well as sensors and measurement instruments for data capture systems. You will have developed a good understanding of system integration and systems engineering as well as knowledge of modern testing techniques and information management systems. You will be familiar with software system design and have good communication and leadership skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels across the business.
