Our client in Buckingham is looking for an experienced and professional Senior Transport Co-Ordinator to join their team to provide a first class delivery service to their customers. Duties will include: · To manage the depot’s seed distribution and administrative functions to be the best they can be and conform with all legal, company and best practice requirements · To develop systems and processes at the depot to improve performance · To manage and perform the depot’s Seed administrative functions as defined by the Company’s written procedures and timescales. Also to manage change to current systems and procedures as per company instruction · To manage the Seed Transport support staff (Perm and contractors), to perform to the best of their ability and meet all Company requirements and provide excellent customer service · To carry out performance appraisals for your direct reports and take action as appropriate · To be responsible for all aspects of your team’s people management including but not limited to recruitment, training and disciplinary matters · To control Seed Transport costs and use the P2P system, and respond quickly to any request for information relating to the depot’s costs · To maintain easy to use and up to date filing systems · To ensure that all aspects and functions of the Seed Transport department comply with Health and Safety legislation and Company requirements working with the Health and Safety Manager · To protect at all time the confidentiality of all information generated by or provided to the Company · To carry out any other duties as requested by your Manager The right candidate will have the following experience and skills: · Experience in medium to large companies as a Senior Transport Co-Ordinator · Experience in a fast-moving environment which is subject to severe fluctuations in demand on a day to day basis, and which requires decisive action · Knowledge of the special health and safety conditions required for the storage and transportation of Seed is required · Proven track record of man-management skills · To show initiative and suggest changes for improvement · Flexible approach to your work · Excellent customer service standards and skills · Methodical approach to work processes and procedures · Ability to work to deadlines · Manage change · Excellent IT Skills – Microsoft Office products and business systems and processes · Ability to communicate well both written and verbally This position is a full-time, permanent hands on role with 40 hours of work per week, but extra hours (i.e 12 hour shifts) will be required during busy peaks of the season.
