As Maintenance Shift Leader you will be responsible for delivering, and where possible, exceeding the key performance indicators within the business unit. The remit covers all aspects of maintenance engineering management – Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People Management and development, Maintenance planning, liaison with the internal customers, suppliers and with all other departments within the Company . Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Shift Leader include: To implement health and safety measures, agreed by the company to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. To consistently achieve quality standards as determined by the customer. Adherence and successful implementation of TS16949 procedures and standards, outlined in the Quality Manual. To monitor the cost of maintenance to the business, with a view to minimising where possible, to maximise profits from each part/product. The training and development of the entire shift, including identification of training needs, addressing of training need via on job training or liaison with the company training function. To support the development and maintenance of TPM work within the shift, to the agreed standard and plan agreed and communicated by the company. To undertake liaison with production shift managers both on site and off site where appropriate, to address quality concerns, provide feedback and liaison concerning production schedules and processes/procedures, and to contribute to continuous improvement activity. The successful management of the shift personnel to attain maintenance schedules/targets. To have excellent communication, organisational, problem solving and analytical skills. To carry out any other duties, including overtime, relevant to the post which may arise thus ensuring a comprehensive and flexible service to the business and the department. Supervision of 3-12 maintenance technicians and apprentices. To be successful in the role of Maintenance Shift Leader you will have the following knowledge & experience: Must understand the technical operation and usage of all Power Presses – (Transfer, Progression and Manual) and Assembly equipment (spot welders, pedestal welders, robot welders) Must understand and manage the safe usage of Overhead Crane, Fork Lift Truck. Strong understanding of Health & Safety Legislation, responsibilities and practical application. To be an effective leader with the ability to motivate, develop and coach staff Highly organised with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritise workload. Must be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, open to change and have a can-do approach. To understand TPM and PPM processes. This position is based in Cannock and is easily commutable from Stafford, Lichfield, Walsall, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Telford, Burton upon Trent and Birmingham.
