Microbiology, R&D, GMP, SOP, Validation, Lab setup, identification, CAPA, QC, Biocide My client are an established Polymer company who are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated Microbiologist to bring their current microbial testing and QC function 'in house'. This is senior role with strategic insight and will involve a phased approach, eventually spreading the function across 20 different sites in the UK, Europe and the US. The Role To provide a central support on how to reduce biological infection of our products to improve bottom line profitability through a mixture of targeted project based improvements and reactive troubleshooting. This will be achieved through reduced cost of biocide purchases, improved quality performance and increased operational efficiency. There will also be an element of direct customer support to educate and inform the value chain on the use of biocides and infection prevention in our products. To take day to day responsibility for laboratory safety issues and ensure that all personnel act in accordance with company's SHE directives. To provide expert advice on practical solutions for maximising cost/benefits of biocide use. Set up and deliver scheduled plant hygiene audits and coordinate improvement actions. Investigate infection based quality complaints to determine root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions. Setting up and auditing validated test methods to monitor infection related factors Liaison with key stakeholders to share and implement best practice on the use of biocides and infection prevention; The Candidate BSc. MSc or PhD in Microbiology or a related subject, with significant relevant job experience. Extensive experience with Microbial testing, particularly culturing and identification, within a regulated environments such as Pharma, Food, Environmental Testing or FMCG production environment. Experience writing, validating and auditing SOP within a GMP setting. Experience with Root Cause Analysis and CAPA. Experience with Lab setup, procurement and vendor management would be highly regarded.
