Job: CCTV Engineer - Service, Maintenance & Installation Our client has been trading for over 25 years and due to growth are looking to bring in an experienced CCTV Engineer to cover Essex, London and other local Counties. Responsibilities / Field of work The CCTV Engineer is responsible for installing, and carrying out routine maintenance procedures on CCTV, Access Control Systems and integrated systems and associated equipment. The engineer will be required to work in Essex London and other counties, there are a few locations that are located further afield but traveling will be paid additionally at overtime rate. Work hours are Monday to Friday between 7:30am – 16:00pm. The working day will include an unpaid meal break of 30 minutes which is to be taken at times to suit the needs of the business. Overtime is paid a time and a half after 16.00 this includes travelling from their last job back to the workshop. A proven history of the ability to perform the duties to a high standard is essential. A recognised engineering qualification is preferred. They operate a Call out facility for certain clients this operates Monday – Sunday 7 days, 24 hours. Assignments: The engineer needs to have good knowledge of the following: How to install and setup Analogue & IP based CCTV cameras (50%) How to install and program IP networks including the programming of managed network switches. How to install wireless networks and be able to setup unassisted. How to install and terminate Fibre Optic cable (this is not essential training can be offered in house for this) Must be able to install cable containment including steel tube and cable tray. How to install Access control system and the ability to fit various locking devices (30%) How to install door entry systems both analogue and IP based systems (10%) How to install PA systems both analogue and IP based systems (5%) Some knowledge of perimeter intruder detection system ranging from active infra-red beam towers to microphonic cable installations.
