An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. The position will be based in Bristol for an initial contract until March 2017 offering up to a maximum of £290 per day LTD. Due to the nature of the client, candidates with a current SC Clearance are highly desirable. Key Tasks: The post will assist the Project Manager to project manage the Battlefield Command and Control Trainer (BC2T), which is an In Service simulation system that allows training to be conducted from Section to Battlegroup level within Unit Lines. This is an established capability that is entering a major transformation. BC2T is located at 50 sites in the UK and overseas and the transformation project will deliver infrastructure and technology enhancements to all classrooms. The post will also support the Project Manager to deliver and manage the Unit Based Virtual Training capability. UBVT is a new capability, currently in competitive Assessment Phase and will provide units within the Field Army the ability to conduct manoeuvre as part of Collective Training Level 1 (CT1) and CT2 training. It will also enable Units to conduct Tactics, Training and Procedures (TTPs) and Command and Control (C2) training in a realistic Synthetic Environment. The post holder will have a key role in selecting the winning bidder and then introducing the new training system from Acceptance Testing through to Full Operating Capability and into In-Service support. Key responsibilities of the role include: Creation and active maintenance of project documentation Management of contracted suppliers & project support tasks Management of Safety and Environmental activities Management of project security issues to achieve necessary sign-off. Management of project finances (ESP & EPP). Liaison with Sponsors & User representatives in support of CASP milestones and targets, including developing future requirements and drafting and supporting Business Cases. Line management responsibility for 2 members of staff. The post holder will also support the Command, Staff and Tactical Training section through DE&S Transformation by developing costed schedules and project level Work Breakdown Structures.
