Cyber Software Engineer - C / C++ / Python Hampshire ££Competitive Are you an inquisitive, dedicated and tenacious Software Engineer looking to work with like-minded, passionate and dedicated individuals on the full lifecycle development from analysis, through development and testing to delivery of specialised cyber capabilities? An exciting opportunity has arisen for Software Engineers to join the team of a leading science and technology company in Hampshire. Passion will be your driving force and an obvious pride in developing high quality software, often developed in a multi-platform environment. Projects will intermittently required your drawing upon you knowledge of low-level computer operations and architecture to create solutions that operate within limitations imposed by system characteristics. Successful candidates will develop a suite of cyber related software, in a multi-platform environment and networked systems; writing highly varied bespoke software over the course of varying projects. Candidates MUST have experience in: o C, Python, C++ o System level programming in Unix / Linux / MAC OS X o Computer Security o Good software engineering skills (development practice, use of standard tools and documented design) o Debugging and test o Track record of developing high quality software The additional skills below, could prove advantageous for applicants: o Writing high quality code in other software languages o Device Driver and kernel level programming in Unix like OS's o Embedded and real time Linux (including Android) and Microsoft Windows o System administration / Dev Ops o Good knowledge and appreciation of IP networking and network applications. The successful candidate will need to undergo security vetting and therefore will ideally be a British Citizen, or have resided within the UK for the last 5 years. The security check will include extensive reference, criminal and credit checks; please do not apply if you are aware discrepancies will arise in lieu of these requirements. o Management of multiple projects and deadlines o Client relationship building and support of bid activities in order to secure new business. Ideally candidates will have a minimum 2:1 bachelors degree within a relevant area (Maths, Physics, Economics etc) and experience of designing and implementing assessment frameworks, workshop facilitation, generation of evidence-based outputs to support Business Cases and business level decision making. Candidates MUST have excellent communications skills (both written and oral) and experience in a customer facing role with proven experience in delivering successful outcomes in Networks, Communications and Sensors within a defence / national security / commercial environment.
