Mobile Service Engineer - South East/London Our client, a family owned business for 30 years, supply and fit commercial vehicle safety systems and camera equipment to a range of trucks, buses, vans and specialist vehicles such as RCV's. They currently have a requirement for a home based Mobile Service Engineer to cover the South East. They are looking for ambassadors of the company, someone who can lead their relationships with key customers at their operational sites. Key responsibilities for the role will be the fitting and servicing of their range of products - cameras, sensors and reversing safety systems to a variety of commercial vehicles and HGV's. They are looking for a candidate who has the desire to become a product expert and eventually get involved with product design and development. Each engineer will be supplied with company work-wear, a late plate VW Transporter van, company mobile, iPad and all necessary tools and equipment. Key Skills and Requirements Experience of fitting electronic items to heavy vehicles operating in demanding environments. Experience of identifying equipment faults and proactively rectifying them. Experience of learning new products and applications and quickly gaining expertise in their use. Experience of working alone, without technical supervision. Experience of working with vehicle air-braking systems. A full, clean driving licence. An HGV qualification would be advantageous Personal Characteristics Willingness to work under his/her own initiative. Willingness to work unsociable and flexible hours. Absolute integrity and trustworthiness Technical Skills/Qualifications A formal qualification in vehicle electronics, ideally on large vehicles, possibly gained while working for a truck main dealer or major fleet operator. Additional training on LGV systems, e.g. air brakes, EBS, CANBUS.
