We are currently recruiting a sales manager to join our event team working across a number of leading international exhibitions and conferences. Our portfolio of events are highly respected within the industries that they operate and we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to ensure that we maximise revenue opportunities whilst ensuring that excellent relationships are maintained with all existing clients. The successful candidate will be tasked with immersing themselves within the industry, ensuring that they attend every related event and become a familiar face with both existing and potential clients. They must be extremely confident selling both on the phone and face to face with a consultative approach to ensure that we attract the right clients to our events. Strong communication and organisation skills are a must, along with excellent attention to detail, superb account management skills and the ability to confidently convert sales. You will be expected to travel and become a core member of our events team working with your colleagues to ensure that The Role: Key Account Management Selling both on the telephone and face to face, with a consultative selling approach Identifying and developing new business opportunities Attending relevant industry events /competitor trade shows & conferences Ensuring that individual and team sales targets are met Providing excellent customer relations at all times Working closely with other departments such as Operations, Marketing, and Finance, to ensure delivery of client needs Writing sales emails, reports, newsletters, and high quality copy for exhibitor sales campaigns Keeping up to date with the latest industry news via industry magazines and journals, online articles and websites, social media and personally attending industry related events Updating and maintaining all systems relevant to the event, including exhibitor database, sales figures, contracts and the floorplan Your Profile: High energy, proactive individual: You are a proactive individual who does everything to your best ability. You thrive when working for a company that is known as one of the best within the industry. Excellent communication skills: There will be a lot of communication by email but on site you will be face to face with your clients where your communication skills will need to excel. Proven Sales Experience: You will have 3-4 years of sales experience preferably within the exhibition and conference industry. Outstanding Customer Service: You naturally provide exceptional customer service and are always willing to go the extra mile for your clients. Ability to work under pressure: You thrive at working under pressure but equally you plan ahead to ensure that you take advantage of down times. The nature of the events business is that certain stages of the event cycle are critical to your success. Desire to travel: Whilst the majority of time will be office bound, you will be expected to travel both within the United Kingdom and overseas – both independently and part of a larger team. Fast Learner: You are a fast learner and are always keen to grow and develop. Ideal skill set of the person that we are seeking: Very proficient in the use of Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, outlook. A natural ability to work with a range of IT systems and packages The Company: Diversified Communications is the UK division of a successful international exhibition and conference company with over 100 events globally. Already established with several successful events in the UK, the company is set to expand significantly over the next few years. You will be based in the UK division’s Cotswold office. Additional Information: 25 days holiday entitlement per annum in addition to Bank Holidays.
