Documentation Manager / Technical Author £42,000 pension, healthcare, 25 days hol, flexible working, season ticket loan etc Based in Soho A creative software company that develops VFX products used in major blockbusters, is searching for a Documentation Manager to manage a small team of technical authors. This is a permanent role based in Soho. The Role: We are looking for a candidate to lead a team of Technical Authors. You'll be responsible for managing the team of technical authors; since this is a relatively small team, you'll also be hands on, and still do some writing yourself. More generally, you'll be responsible for line management of the team, scheduling them against product demands, putting in place the general frameworks (style guide, quality metrics) to ensure a consistent experience for users of the software. You'll also look to continually improve and develop the team; developing the user experience that we provide in terms of non-written documentation and how we can be reactive to the needs of users. Any experience with providing documentation materials in more modern mediums would be an advantage. Day-to-day responsibilities will include editing and proofreading copy that is to be included in the user guides and tutorials, liaising with developers, producing release notes, and writing new content.
