Engineering Scheme Engineer / Manager A highly profitable and established research and development organisation that has a strong history of supplying safety critical and tested products to the Rail Sector are looking to strengthen their engineering / management team. DUTIES: The role will be accountable for the construction, planning, assigning and reporting of all engineering workflow to meet internal and external customer requests in order to support core products. Support the Rail Systems Head of Engineering in order to produce accurate scheme or project workflows to allow for engineering actions to be completed in alignment with the corporate global engineering policies ensuring associated regional customer mandatory standards are meet at all times for engineering within products. Schedule the development and implementation of workflow ensuring that internal global resources and UK external support organisations are aligned to deliver works to scheme / project timeframes. Plan / implement engineering resource to ensure delivery targets are meet. Ensure that Customer, Legislative and Supplier are monitored and planned programmes of update are in place for associated systems and drawings is available at all times. Ensure that Supply chain is supported with relevant live access to all procurement drawings, material specifications and engineering reports at all times. Consolidate with all departments information to assign to internal systems to raise workflow requests. Ensure weekly updates are passed onto the internal system and assigned with documented commitment. Support bid evaluations with workflow reports and maintain. Preparation of reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements. Ensure that ISO requirements are met via procedures and are continually improved by working with external ISO procedures contractor. Weekly review meetings with Head of Engineering, General Manager and Vice President of Engineering (or delegated representative) to update on progress. Report / minutes on technical, customer and team meetings to resolve issues, produce minutes / reports to close all actions and record. Compile and record for submission all costs for R&D expenditure. REQUIREMENTS: A formal qualification in Engineering HND / Degree Good Engineering experience Strong organisational skills Solidworks / stress analysis design principle understanding Good level of verbal and written presentation skills Exposure of ISO / Quality systems This job was originally posted as
