The candidate will be expected to work in a fast moving environment, whilst being responsible for delivering a Proof of Concept Solution that will kick-start a holistic Operational Data Management initiative within the company with the aim of extending the reach and capability of its highly successful Active Network Management (ANM) Technology Platform. The candidate will be expected to bring expert knowledge of both emerging and existing techniques to inform the design phases of both platform and application elements for these solutions. The immediate intention is that the PoC (Proof Of Concept) will be scaled to allow deployment and integration with client data systems both in near term future years. It is envisaged that the deliverables of this PoC will also emerge as the foundation for rapidly building an organisational capability to satisfy the needs of our in-flight systems and developmental projects. Key Skills and Background : Hands-on experience with NoSQL technologies , including Spark and other tools such as MongoDB, Cassandra ; Strong experience with Data visualisation tools such as - Tableau, QlikView, Business Objects, D3; Proven track record of defining the Operational Data Architecture strategy and associated blueprints ( design, implementation ) for enterprise level platforms; Experience delivering complex Data Management projects , specifically in NoSQL with a Time-Series element would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to Data Science practices ( Machine Learning, Python or R ); Experience defining end to end Data Governance/Architecture ; Work in an Agile based environment using methodologies like Scrum; Experience designing logical and physical data models ; Extensive ETL development and testing experience, ideally Talend and/or Pentaho; An adept communicator with proven team leadership skills and highly focused on delivery. About the role: The candidate will be an integral part of the clients' Technology team and will work on a business critical project; the successful delivery of the PoC will provide the opportunity to continue working with SGS as either a full-time employee or as an Associate; The candidate will be partnering closely with clients and vendors to provide a range of services including: strategy and roadmap development, analysis & ideation, advisory, innovation and business development; The candidate will come from a highly technical background and have demonstrable experience of implementing Big Data solutions within an end-client or for clients from within a consultancy in the recent past; The project is at PoC phase , so the candidate will have a direct influence over technology decisions as well as shaping the platform ; Working in a small, talented and high-performing team of architects, there will be plenty of opportunity for the candidate to bring new ideas and technical innovation to the team; You will have a passion for solving problems of huge magnitude and for new and emerging areas of this technology.
