I want to hear from you The Role Workshop Engineer, Mere – Wiltshire To assist with but not limited to: Machine component design and manufacture, machinery repairs and improvements. Manufacturing holding fixtures for component parts. General Machining and fabrication. Skills & Experience: Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Sound Mechanical Engineering experience MIG, TIG and gas welding Able to operate manual lathes, milling machines. Able to operate 3 Axis CNC/Manual milling machines. Able to read drawings and create drawings if required Able to design and manufacture from component parts Technical Experience & Knowledge Preferred Able to use precise measuring devices and instruments Computer literate Good communication skills Mechanical aptitude Knowledge needed for the role Able to work well on their own or in a team Must be prepared to work in a multi-skilled environment. Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, etc. Must have a flexible approach to working in a modern manufacturing environment. Ability to work to deadlines is essential Attention to fine detail Behavioural Competencies Required: Flexible approach to working hours Proactive approach to continuous improvement Responsive to new ideas “Can do” Attitude Drive, integrity and commitment.
