Overview As part of the Experian in house Legal team, you can protect and preserve our ethical and financial integrity playing a vital role in ensuring Experian's success through expert advice and support. We are now seeking a Commercial Solicitor to provide commercial contract legal support to the Experian business. Initially, this will be for the Experian Consumer Services division to cover maternity leave and afterwards supporting the wider business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, such as: Ensuring that deals are consistent with Experian policies as set out in the Legal 'play book' and any exceptions are escalated for approval at the appropriate level Assisting with development of standard commercial contract documentation Training sales and other business people on legal issues and helping to reinforce policies and procedures Liaising with Corporate Legal in relation to specialist areas such as IP, Litigation and with Compliance Team where necessary Job requirements and qualifications Required: - Qualified UK Solicitor or Barrister with strong academic background and professional training with a reputable law firm or business. - Demonstrable experience required of drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts. Knowledge of any of the following areas would be an advantage: Consumer contracts Consumer protection law/ FCA Handbook data protection; competition law; intellectual property; Must demonstrate a commitment to the use of IT and automated systems to assist in the delivery of legal services, and an understanding of the importance of knowledge management.
