We now have opportunities for R&D Technologists to join our high performing team, to move forward the research and development activity for Millboard and improvement to our existing processes, in addition to support the Chemist on the installation and commission of a new manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Research and development of raw materials Generation of alternative raw materials for use in production Method development using analytical instrumentation Writing of detailed technical reports on the findings and proposing alternative and improved processes Documentation of results for laboratory work and trials Interaction with production for development activities in respect to plant trials Process development using new advanced techniques Person Specification Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/processes environment Good knowledge of polymers, paints, adhesives, polyurethane processes, chemistry, formulations and technology Previous experience of testing plastics and composites Strong educational background with a degree in Chemistry or Materials Experience of analytical techniques when root causing problems of a chemical nature is also required, such as Karl Fischer, FTIR with ATR , UV/VIS/NI R Professional membership of the Royal society of Chemist or IOM preferred Green belt six sigma preferred Experience within continuous improvement environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to persuade and influence at all levels Ability to analyse and report data effectively Applicants must have a full UK driving licence Rewards & Benefits Excellent benefits package including laptop and a generous holiday entitlement.
