The Coventry, the UK’s 3rd largest Building Society, are currently recruiting for a System Test Manager to join the System Test team within the IT department. Your role will be to lead, develop and motivate a team of up to 12 Test Analysts & Test Leads in delivering an effective system testing service to support the Society’s business and IT project portfolio. Core activities will include but not be limited to : Line management responsibility including staff performance & development, recruitment and resource planning. In Influencing the strategic direction of the testing team, setting and monitoring standards, evaluating tool selection , process redesign and test process improvements. Plan, co-ordinate and manage the System test phase of both software and infrastructure related projects. Drive the adoption of test automation, playing a key role in designing and developing the test automation framework. Working collaboratively with Technical teams in supporting ‘Operational Acceptance’ and ‘Performance testing’ phases of Projects. In order to be successful in this role you will have strong people management skills. As a System Test Manager, you will be responsible for developing staff through performance management, training and coaching. At the same, you will be working closely with Technical teams and Project Managers in ensuring the testing process adopted aligns to the Project(s) needs. An understanding of the discipline of software testing covering both traditional and Agile SDLC methodologies is important. An appreciation of automation testing, including experience of influencing testing frameworks is desirable. You will ideally be ISEB qualified to Practitioner level with experience of developing the testing maturity level adopted through the introduction of best practices.
