The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £42,503 - £49,904 per annum, exclusive of London Allowance. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced developer to join the Research Applications Operations Group in the Information Services Division (ISD) at University College London. The post holder’s primary role is to provide the technical development and support for our portfolio of research applications which includes but is not limited to Research Profiles (IRIS) and Research Publications (RPS & Discovery). The Senior Analyst Developer will be expected to provide technical leadership for Research Publication services/projects and oversee the technical quality of work within the team. A key part of this role will be to further develop the above research applications to meet the growing customer needs. This includes the installation, configuration, maintenance, development and operation of these services, including 3rd line support, troubleshooting and performance testing. The role holder will work closely with colleagues from the Library Services and with the wider support teams in the Information Services Division to provide 3rd line support, troubleshoot, identify and prioritise development requirements. This should include the ability to advise on the design of the system architecture and the installation and configuration of the applications to optimise functionality and performance. An understanding of academic, research and administrative requirements will help translate business requirements into technical specifications and tailor solutions to meet the needs. This role will suit applicants with strong experience of working with web applications, business requirements gathering and analysis, and service planning, implementation and management of multi-tier, high profile IT services.
