Reporting to the Head of Category Planning, the aim of this role is to assist in establishing and renewing the channel category strategy. Develop the category strategy into a persuasive selling story and commercialise the plans for customers. Provide the guidelines on the key sales fundamentals to ensure there is a sales activity plan built to achieve the Annual Budget and challenge/support the Commercial Managers as necessary to deliver their targets. Role Accountabilities Develop the Customer Category Strategy. Support its translation into a customer specific conceptual sell with tailoring for multi level selling within retailers. Develop Commercial Managers “toolkit” for customer category leadership Commercialise the go to market proposition for all new initiatives. Set targets for sales fundamentals for NPD and ensure the required support material for BMs is developed Lead development of the in-store activity plan – including establishing a promotion strategy and guidelines to support Annual budget delivery Identifying targets and monitor progress against all sales fundamentals for both the company fand key competition. Recommend action to close any gaps Define, quantify and prioritise category/customer opportunities and ensure action plans are developed to achieve and track progress Co-ordinate communication between internal functions and customer facing individuals and groups Recommend and co-ordinate response to customer with respect to competitive activity and threats Support key customer presentations/meetings Facilitate sharing of best practice across the sales team Evaluate the event plan to ensure consistency with brand objectives and activity guidelines Manage the day to day co-ordination of customer profitability statements for all Channels.
