We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and motivated individual to join the SLC Learning and Development team in Darlington on a temporary 12 months maternity cover basis. We would welcome applications from individuals looking to work between 30 and 37.5 hours per week. Working with senior management in your assigned business area, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of their learning strategy. Operating as part of The Learning Academy you will define and deliver/source the learning solutions that will help drive performance and help your client achieve its goals. Work activity in this area may also include professional development of staff in line with industry practices or new technologies. Detailed Portfolio Accountabilities & Objectives: · Lead the development of learning plans with senior management across client area, ensuring alignment to operational and business plans Responsible for advising your client area on all aspects of development, including Senior Management and Executive levels, guiding them to effective activities and solutions Work with staff and management at all levels to identify gaps between existing and required capabilities Create and implement a training schedule for critical and high development requirements Lead the delivery of subsequent learning solutions and provide clear & measurable benefit Prioritise work in line with other activities, e.g. resourcing plans and change programmes Responsible for identifying and reporting associated risks for key activity and implement mitigating actions Responsible for identifying opportunities for performance improvement, using knowledge of your client area Responsible for identifying learning & development requirements relevant to your client from wider business incentives, e.g. organisational redesign, employee engagement, performance development etc Assess and identify subcontract opportunities, and source external professionals to develop and deliver the training requirements, following internal procurement guidelines Responsible for managing supplier relationships and delivery of their services to agreed contract Develop and deliver training programmes, adhering to internal best practices and standards Develop or agree approach to evaluate and measure training effectiveness, liaising with management over the transfer of skills to the role Research professional frameworks for adoption at SLC, engaging with Commercial Services on procurement of external vendors Develop role based Learning Paths aligning the functional capabilities to relevant training, education & development interventions Implement frameworks and associated learning paths through SLC’s Learning Academy Modify training programmes, as appropriate, based on the results of training effectiveness metrics and quality results review Key Outputs: Learning plans aligned to directorate business & operational goals and SLC’s corporate plan Established business relationships Training schedule for critical & high requirements Commissioned training services and subsequent management, from requirements to evaluation High quality training design & delivery, adhering to team practices & processes Evaluations strategies & use of data to support continuous improvement Professional frameworks and relevant learning paths implemented Reporting and updates to management & stakeholders/client groups Accurate & maintained training records and department schedules Professional service to customers Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications Experience in L&D role at Officer level or equivalent Degree or professional qualification in Learning & Development Knowledge of company vision, corporate and business plans and values Knowledge of learning & development processes and practices including emerging trends S trong business partnering skills, (including relationship building, influencing, negotiation, assertiveness, self-awareness and comfort around higher management). Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent presentation skills with ability to confidently present information in a creative and interactive manner Strong organisational skills, including task & diary management and ability to prioritise Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage client expectations Experienced in researching, developing & implementing new training & development programmes Proactive in approach to work, with an enthusiastic and positive attitude Ability to work independently and make effective decisions Accountability and ownership to see tasks through to completion Experience in working with and managing external training providers and partners Ability to work effectively as a team member and with the wider Learning Academy Clear commitment to personal and professional development Work patiently and effectively with employees of different experience levels, learning styles and diversity Competent to an intermediate level with MS Office, specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications Experience of training cycle from analysis to evaluation, and proven ability to impart knowledge to others Travel to other UK locations may be required Please press "Apply" to upload CV and complete the external application process.
