About The Role We now have an opportunity for an experienced 1 st and 2 nd line Service Desk Technician to join the STFC Digital Solutions group, with responsibility for providing IT support services across RAL and other UK sites. STFC is currently undergoing a transformational change of its information and communications technology services. STFC’s investments in new digital capability, innovation and partnerships with industry specialists are globally significant for science and research. You will actively participate in delivering the departmental changes and will have a crucial part to play in the onward development of their role. This role is extremely varied and fast paced. The main duties will include; · recording, resolving and monitoring the progress of user support queries using our Footprints helpdesk system · providing hands on support to users of MS Windows and desktop applications · responsibility for the specification, purchase and installation of IT hardware and software including PCs, laptops, printers, tablets and mobile devices etc. · you will be the initial point of contact for all video conferencing queries and requests at RAL, as well as assisting with the planning, installation and testing of the VC system. You will also be encouraged to take part in projects that will expand your IT skills and experience. About You You will demonstrate proven experience within a customer focused IT, VC or AV support team. Knowledge of supporting MS Windows and applications in an Enterprise Environment is desirable, as is knowledge of CISCO video conferencing infrastructure.
