Whilst an experienced team is essential, they are also keen to diversify and bring in fresh talent and energy This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates who have also dabbled with their own or professional projects, are actively looking to secure a role where you play an integral part of the greater growth and apply those skills/technologies learnt throughout your educational and personal projects. Within this role you will work with other Developers to manage and maintain the technology stack with a focus on the definition and development of server-side micro-servers as we as client's web/mobile apps ensuring high performance, scalability and security. The primary stack will be Node.js, Angular, Express, Postgress and Elasicsearch. Applications are deployed in to Cloud Technology infrastructure using automated deployment tools. There will also be an element of front-end application so an understanding of client-side JavaScript and associated technologies is necessary. Areas of responsibility will cover; Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code Refactoring and optimisation Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant services Implementing security and data protection techniques Logging using the ELK stack Ensuring good coverage of unit tests Ensuring good source code management using git Deployment using CI techniques, using GoCD / Jenkins Ideal competencies, skill and knowledge; Able to provide examples of coding ability with JavaScript (client and server level) Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks. Particularly around the Angular and Express framework is highly desirable Good understanding and able to demonstrate front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3 as well as Responsive design Knowledge and understanding of User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments Integration of multiple data sources into one system via APIs and Web Services (REST & SOAP) Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable, micro-service-architected application Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git As this is a graduate/entry/junior role we will consider those who do not have Node but are able to demonstrate a genuine passion for IT, Technology and coding.
