AGILE BUSINESS ANALYST (PRODUCT OWNER) Salary range between : £31,219 - £39,023 p.a. Grade: Level 3 (Information Systems) Hours of Work: Such hours as necessary to carry out your duties. This will involve a minimum of 37 hours per week and may include working outside normal office hours at evenings and weekends and on Public Holidays. Location: The normal place of work is one of the EIS main sites (London, Bisham Abbey, Bath, Loughborough, Lilleshall, Manchester), however this role will require regular travel to other locations. ROLE SUMMARY The English Institute of Sport (EIS) are the team behind many of Great Britain’s most successful sports. In the Rio cycle we worked with 93% of the athletes and 31 of the 34 sports that won a medal for Team GB and Paralympics GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic & Paralympic Games. As part of this ‘team behind the team’, you will be responsible for delivering the on-going success and continuous improvement of the EIS Performance Data Management System (PDMS), which enables the capture, storage, and management of data that is generated by EIS practitioners, elite athletes and coaches across a diverse range of Olympic and Paralympic sports. Working as part of a broader Sport Intelligence team, you will be tasked with overseeing the planning, development and deployment of PDMS feature enhancements by a team of software developers, whilst ensuring that appropriate support is maintained for current users. This is a unique opportunity to be part of supporting Olympic and Paralympic sports in the UK, and we are looking for individuals passionate about delivering software that will make a difference in this environment. MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES Act as Agile Business Analyst (Product Owner) - directing the activities of an externally resourced agile software development team to deliver quality feature enhancements to the existing PDMS platform against defined user needs, whilst maintaining and supporting the current platform Translate new PDMS user requirements into technical delivery plans Define and agree the appropriate delivery and deployment approach for new PDMS features or existing feature upgrades Develop detailed user test plans and execute test scenarios / test scripts to underpin successful deployment of new features and/or services Direct the delivery and continuous improvement of effective PDMS product support to ensure user needs are met Work with the Sport Intelligence Manager to develop a long-term plan to resource the sustainable development of (and support to) the PDMS platform Work closely with the other members of the Sport Intelligence Team to share knowledge, keep design principles aligned, and increase team collaboration Communicate credibly with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple organisations Create and maintain project technical documentation This job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
