What we’re looking for… Frog is searching for a talented, proactive and tenacious Developer to work on a variety of projects to create and develop Frog technical products using programming techniques. As a Developer at Frog you will join a close-knit team with a very diverse skill set. Here at Frog, you won’t be just a Developer, you can be entrepreneurial, have the choice to input on product decisions and develop them, you can help and guide testing. You will own your own workload from inception through to delivery to the customer’s box. We love exploring new technology at Frog and regular input into architectural decisions is common place. You will be well developed in this role; no two days are the same. You have the ability to push your own projects and take part in regular hack days and deliver show and tell sessions to the rest of the company. Read on… What will you get up to… · Use Relational Databases to structure and store data to power applications · Create stable and production ready code · Identify limitations of design and specification during a project life-cycle and be able to consult with project owners to resolve issues · Work within a framework defined by senior members of team · Document and demonstrate software functionality · Perform clear communication and support to other teams/departments · Identify and counter broader implications of changing the software · Report to technical leads and team leads with regards to project progress and escalate any risks accordingly · Propose technical projects for refactoring, replacement or improvement to Architecture · With other members of product teams, analyze requirements in order to create technical specifications. · Mentoring and coaching junior developers of the team · Participate in code reviews and generally promote industry best practice in your team and the wider department What techy skills will you bring to the table… · Object-Oriented development in PHP and Javascript · Knowledge and understanding of different frameworks and programming design patterns · The ability to jump into new languages and frameworks as required · Ability to produce robust and realistic test cases for own and others’ code in order to take ownership of an aspect or aspects of a project · Use of MySQL relational database to structure and store data to power applications · Good understanding and working knowledge of Source code control packages such as git, subversion etc. · A good understanding of server side technologies such as NodeJS, Vagrant or Docker is a plus The kind of person we need… · Ability to work successfully as a member of a close, strong and likeminded team · You will be a whizz at solving problems · Your communications skills will be awesome · You aren’t afraid to question and challenge daily; shrinking violets won’t succeed · Applies context to undertaken tasks · Is super supportive of all colleagues · Brings a positive outlook to the role · An inquisitive manner and a real passion for learning The good stuff… - You get to make a difference in your role.
