Our client is the market leading marquee and event services company in the South-East, with a well established reputation for providing the finest marquees and tents for amazing events over the past 35 years. As Operations Manager, your job will be to make sure that the promises made to clients are delivered, and that the company's reputation for outstanding service and high quality is maintained. You will be responsible for all overall operations activities, managing teams of riggers who erect marquees and tents to make clinet's events wishes come true. This includes managing costs whilst ensuring that the company has the correct levels of resources available to fulfill it's business commitments. This includes recruiting the best permanent and seasonal staff, tent erectors and riggers, and making sure they are trained to perform to the highest standard. You will also ensure that the vehicle fleet is maintained and oeprate legally and efficiently. Health and Safety will fall into your area of responsiblity, as will ensuring that tools and equipment are maintained and stocked appropriately. You will also be in charge of hire stock for special jobs. Most importantly, you will be in ultimate charge of a team of operations staff via 4 foremen, ensuring adequate seasonal staff are hired to help during the busy times and making sure that they are all motivated, safe, focussed on doing a great job and presenting a high quality impression when they work on site. The ideal candidate for this role will come from a logistics, construction, fabrication or production environment with experience of managing large teams of people who deliver manual labour. You will be a good man manager, but you will also have excellent adminsitrative and planning skills. You will be willing to lead by example, being on the on-call rota and working on site when neccessary to ensure that customer service standards are upheld. Good IT skills are also neccessary.
