Front Counter Supervisor Nuneaton , Warwickshire. Permanent Contract Full Time The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Wednesday 26 th October 2016 A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales . The main purpose of this role is to supervise counter staff and the overall performance of the virtual counter staff. To oversee services delivered across the Alliance and ensure a corporate approach. Main Responsibilities: To supervise the performance of the counter teams, ensuring a high quality service is provided to members of the public, dealing with enquiries and providing resolution at the first point of contact when possible. To efficiently supervise staff resourcing levels to ensure counters across the alliance meet the published opening hours. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the force IT systems, whilst ensuring the accurate and timely updating of all Force systems used across the counters, in accordance with Force policy and national guidelines. To support and implement organisational and legislative changes by ensuring staff are aware and can implement those which affect the counters in West Mercia and Warwickshire. To develop and maintain a culture of coaching and mentoring to support and deliver continuous improvement in all areas of business across the counters. To be responsible for the people management issues relating to all staff within the counter team across the Alliance , for example sickness, welfare, disciplinary issues and PDR. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Experience/Skills: 5 GCSE’s including English Language A-C grade or equivalent Supervisory qualification such as CMS, NVQ3 or equivalent Knowledge of Front Counter procedures Significant experience in supervising teams and individuals Proven ability to mentor, tutor and coach in order to enhance staff skills Proven ability to work to strict deadlines whilst managing a high workload Experience in motivating teams to achieve targets and meet standards Experience in contact/customer service environment Proven leadership and motivational qualities Proven ability to work to strict deadlines managing a high and diverse workload Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development Competent in the use of IT including Microsoft packages or equivalent Special Conditions Ability to travel to other counters across the Alliance Shift work Wearing of Uniform We want our organisation to be as diverse as the community it serves.
