The Company JobTrain Scotland are recruiting a Trainee IT Engineer on behalf of an established IT Support and Consultancy business who are based in Glasgow City Centre. Our client is a Microsoft Gold Partner certified, who work with organisations and companies across Scotland and beyond. Apprenticeship Programme As well as entering full time employment, the successful candidate will undertake a Diploma in IT and Telecommunications, fully funded for those aged 16-24, as well as work towards the obtainment of Microsoft Technical certifications. Upon completion of the Level 3 Diploma, which usually takes 12 months, there will be the opportunity to advance your knowledge and skills even further by undertaking an Advanced Level 4 Diploma. The Role Key Responsibilities: · Provide remote and telephone support for client networks and applications. · Provide on-site support for client networks and applications. · Mainly covering central Scotland from office base in Glasgow city centre. · Partake in the company’s on-call support rota to provide ‘out of hours’ support in the maintenance of critical client systems. · 1st / 2nd line support · Troubleshooting and fault finding · Software and hardware installation · Maintenance of all client’s IT systems Other Info: · Starting salary of £12-16k (DoE) per annum depending on experience and qualifications, with review after 6 months and annually thereafter. · Excellent opportunities for growth – both in technical or commercial areas over the longer term. · Option for company car. · Options for paid overtime. · Option for private city centre parking space. · A development budget to make sure you keep up with training and certifications. · Long service benefits. The Candidate We are looking for someone who is passionate about IT, specifically tech support and are willing to invest time and energy into making the role their own and becoming an important part of a growing business. Qualifications: Ideally applicants will be educated to a minimum of Higher in Maths, English and Computing. However, if you are confident you can demonstrate the required level of knowledge through experience, whether this in the workplace or what you do in your spare time, then please apply also. This is absolutely essential. · Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills. · Strong attention to details and a willingness to own a problem. · Ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies. A genuine interest in emerging technologies is required. · Full UK driving license.
