The Role: Chief Financial Officer Location: Oxfordshire Package: Basic to £130k, £40k Bonus, £6k car allowance, share options The role: Our customer is a rapid growth technology service provider business. They have attracted over £130m of funding in the past 18 months and are now looking to recruit a CFO and help to drive the business to the next level. This board level role is a key position, and follows a further period of change linked to operational targets which are driven by both the board of investors and the government programmes the company are working with. Reporting to the CEO, the role heads the financial unit and will be instrumental in helping to secure the next stage of funding, which is projected to be in the area of £350m over the next 12 months. You`ll work closely with the COO to devise and implement project budgets, you`ll drive strategic matters as they relate to business planning, major project evaluations, cost benefit analysis, project accounting and reporting. You`ll have the ability to implement more financial structure to the business, without restricting the passion and enthusiasm that makes them one of the most rapidly growing technology businesses in Europe. Key challenges and objectives: Fundamental challenge and key to success will be the ability to build relationships with the PLC board and drive these investor relations to the next level. Due to that, you`ll be able to point to demonstrable success of working in a CFO role for a technology or infrastructure start up, ideally one that has been taken through to IPO. Review, analyse, and evaluate the functional performance, achievements, activities, costs, & operations to determine progress toward stated KPI`s in line with the company business plan. Assess and diagnose existing financial processes, procedures and staff. What can be improved? Propose measures to drive efficiency and implement those measures. This role suits an operational finance CFO, rather than someone who is more focused on transactional financial matters. Risk management - identification of risk, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and processes with the goal of building further project budget financial performance and risk/opportunity plans. Required background: Chief Financial Officer pedigree within the telecoms or ISP sector. Key point: demonstrable evidence of success within private equity backed companies moving through an expansion and navigating the challenges that can be part of rapid expansion. Experience of driving financial growth within a technology start up environment or Tech Track 100 business. A Chartered Accountant Experience of C-level stakeholder management alongside relationship management of a PLC board or board of investors. An inspirational & transformational performance leader who combines strategic vision, a dynamic approach, significant gravitas and an understanding of how things work within a technology style start up environment. The package: Salary to £130,000 with a KPI driven bonus of £40,000. £6,000 car allowances with stock option package linked to performance over the next 3 years.
