My client is an international bank that focuses on a range of saving products to individual and institutional savers. There is a need for a financial Analyst to join the Credit Team. My client's main products are mortgages and corporate loans. The role is to assist the Credit Risk Officer on a day-to-day basis in reviewing all mortgage applications and all mortgage management data as well as origination policies for mortgages. The successful applicant need not have had experience of mortgage lending before but will receive training on the Bank's current policies, the models they use to underwrite and assess a mortgage Borrower, and the processes which are carried out by the underwriting team so that they understand how policies translate into real processes. Eventually you will take on more responsibility for reviewing individual mortgage applications and using your own judgment. Additionally, the role requires assistance in producing and reviewing the mortgage dashboards, and preparing short reports to the Executive Committee on the development of the mortgage book. This is a fast growing team and the opportunity is second to none and you will have the ability to progress quickly into a more senior role. Key Skills: Graduate with at least 1-2 full years' experience in a bank or financial institution (Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or equivalent degree) Strong Numerate skills - comfortable with numerical analysis, good mental arithmetic Broad interest in finance - broad grasp of the principles of corporate finance including deals which are typically reported in the financial press. You must be interested in how news events/economic events affect business as a whole). Good working knowledge of Excel Good written communication - you should be able, after a period of training, to review a dashboard of statistical data and write a concise summary of what the data represents and whether any management action is needed.
