As Buy It Direct continues to grow we’re now looking for an experienced Buyer to join our Appliances Direct brand. Your focus will be on a variety of appliances of which you’ll take ownership of the category’s P&L, including marketing spend, vendor income, carriage and gross profit from stock sales. You’ll be responsible for the development of the business unit pricing strategy and implementation to make sure we stage competitive in the market, and you’ll need to source deals to maximise sales, making recommendations and suggestions, and taking action as required to ensure the right deals are in place. Buy It Direct is a dynamic, creative and innovative company, investing heavily in eCommerce. We’re one of the fastest growing and largest independent online retailers, with a turnover of £120 million. We have six well-recognised online brands which is what makes us the success that we are. These include Laptops Direct, Appliances Direct and Furniture123, and to top that off we also run website solutions for Debenhams and Tesco. We continue to grow year on year, so now’s the time to join in What else will you have to do? There’s lots to get your teeth in to in this role as you will need to understand and develop the strategy for each individual channel or route to market. You’ll be expected to plan and organise stock ranges, preparing sales and stock plans, whilst managing the overall inventory position. You’ll own your own category therefore you’ll need to understand and develop a full range of products that’ll set us out from the crowd, making accurate projections for both sales and stock holding along with a cash outlay and return, sourcing new products and categories as needed. So what’s really important to us? We really want to hear from you if you’ve got previous experience working as a Buyer, Assistant Buyer or Product Manager with any experience of buying appliances. We’d also love to hear from you if you have previous experience of managing people. As you’d expect experience of working with suppliers and distributes is key, as well as that ability to set the strategic direction for the category you are working within.
