HTS Scientist with screening and mammalian cell culture experience for growing biotech company in Cambridge Your new company Is a growing biotechnology company in the Cambridge area, that is looking to expand their automation team. Your new role As an HTS Scientist, you will be responsible for carrying out high throughput screening (HTS) projects, using a diverse range of HTS and cell biology techniques. Techniques will include carrying out cellular viability assays, mammalian cell culture, and fluorescent / luminescent analysis; as well as using LIMS information systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also involve maintaining multiple cell lines, processing and analysing data, and prioritising workloads from competing projects. As the company deals with a range of customers, you may well be required to interact with people from outside the business, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and deadlines on projects. This role will involve working on one weekend day (with a day off during the week in lieu) every other week What you'll need to succeed Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills, as you will be working on several projects at once. Strong communication skills are also required, as is a demonstrated ability to work in a biological lab environment and culture mammalian cell lines. Previous experience of working with medium - high throughput / HTS is necessary for the role, and a scientific degree (or equivalent industrial experience) is needed. Candidates who have experience with fluid-handling automated systems and fluorescent / luminescent plate readers are at an advantage, but these aspects can be trained.
