Supply Chain Specialist (Planning & Logistics) – Pharmaceuticals Livingston Newly created role for an experienced Supply Chain / Logistics Specialist with a track record gained within a regulated Pharmaceutical / Biologics manufacturing environment. GMP environment. Cold Supply Chain. This is a superb opportunity to join a dynamic Life Sciences organisation at an exciting time. You will be key liaison between operations and support departments (QA, SCM, Manufacturing, QC, Engineering, external manufacturing team and external third parties) ensuring visibility of day-to-day activities and longer term forecasting together with creating systems which provide visibility for planning through the production process to quality release. Key responsibilities will include – • Support and drive effective communications and execution of tasks through the planning meeting • Support Functions on resource planning based on analysis • To create ‘what if’ scenarios based upon operational and customer requirements to maintain capacity analysis tools and use these tools to help manage our resource and capital more effectively, as well as using it to support investment and capex decisions • To highlight cross functional operational deficiencies and suggest improvement plans • Maintain planning tools to provide visibility of tasks and progression • Support in developing and implementing key quality performance indicators with Supply Chain teams • Effective management of deviations, CAPA and change controls • Provide support to the department and contribute to an environment of energy, enthusiasm, empowerment and motivation • Develop working practices to ensure compliance with standards and continuous improvement • Maintain Master Production Schedule / Supply plan & MPS • Monitor capacity and utilisation through weekly planning meeting • Create plans for external manufacturing companies • Provide support to all departments in relation to planning • Monitor and analyse data on material consumption / usage for QC and Manufacturing annually • Assist the procurement team on any purchasing activities where required • Plan / Liaise with logistics team regarding shipping of final product to the customer • Plan with warehouses and distribution centres for pick-up and delivery of goods for efficiency in both operations and capacity • Organise transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary • Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways • Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule • Managing the import and export of goods through 3PL • Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low • Maintains quality throughout the logistic processes • Shift work and out of hours work as required • To undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager in accordance with company requirements The successful candidate will be / will have - • Relevant cross functional work experience in a regulated industry (FDA, EMEA etc) • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and cGMP • Good knowledge of creating and writing SOP and related documents • Experience of the production of high level programs with complex inter-dependencies • Supply Chain/Logistics qualifications preferred • Self-motivated, energetic and value-driven • Ability to work well on own initiative and under pressure and be able to think ‘outside the box’ as well as being able to work well with others • Planning and scheduling demands, to meet changing business conditions • Excellent time management, planning and organising skills and experience with the ability to motivate and drive an organisation through major change management processes • Effective communication skills • Attention to detail • Organisational and Quality Management skills • Knowledge of Logistics systems • Understanding of transportation limitations, regulations and issues In return you will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package including bonus and private health care.
